AU–Germany Agricultural Policy Dialogue
An institutional platform for a joint African Union and German government initiative — bilingual, structured, and built to be cited.

The brief this work answers
The Agricultural Policy Dialogue is a joint initiative of the African Union Commission and the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, launched in November 2023. It exists to strengthen the capacity of AU institutions, Regional Economic Communities and Member States to implement agrifood transformation priorities through policy coherence, peer learning and evidence-based action.
The audience is institutional: ministries, delegations, partner organisations and the press. The site's job is credibility and clarity, not conversion.
Approach
The information architecture follows how an institutional reader arrives. What the initiative is and who is behind it comes first — the two partner institutions named explicitly, because in this context provenance is the content. Mission, vision and team follow, then the work programme, then events.
Events and dialogues are treated as a first-class section rather than a news feed, since the initiative's output is largely convening: dialogues, missions and knowledge exchanges that partners need to find and plan around.
A French version runs alongside the English throughout, which is a structural requirement rather than a feature for an African Union platform — the language toggle is placed in primary navigation and the architecture is built to stay symmetrical across both.
Outcome
A platform that reads as institutional rather than promotional, with a bilingual structure and an events section built for planning.
The design restraint is the point. For a body of this kind, credibility comes from clarity and correct attribution — the visual system stays deliberately out of the way of both.
